MAY 15: Capital Area Franchise Fair Helps Entrepreneurs Avoid Pitfalls

Vienna, Va.--Looking to be your own boss or for a solid, semi-passive investment? The Capital Area Franchise Fair, hosted by FranNet of Virginia in partnership with the Community Business Partnership, will help prospective
entrepreneurs explore their options and understand the dos and don’ts of investing in a franchise.

The fair, taking place May 15 from 12:30-5pm at the Tower Club in Vienna, features a variety of expert speakers and panel discussions designed to help attendees find the franchise that is the best fit, learn about industry trends and how to maximize return on investment (ROI),  understand the franchise business model, and make informed decisions to achieve their financial, professional and personal goals.

Most people equate franchise with “fast food;” but franchises are available in over 90 different industries, many of which require fewer hours and far less start-up funds while generating greater profits than food businesses. Finding the right fit is important for success.
That’s why the Capital Area Franchise Fair, hosted by FranNet of Virginia, will help attendees explore different options and learn about navigating the franchise research and ownership process.

FranNet of Virginia is a franchise matchmaking service in Virginia and DC that provides free counseling as well as education seminars to aspiring entrepreneurs through SCORE and the Virginia Small Business Development Centers; government agencies; and local military bases.

Capital Area Franchise Fair speakers include:

  • Heather Rosen, a FranNet of Virginia franchise specialist and coach who helps people identify the right franchise based on skill sets, financial and lifestyle goals, budget, and financial capabilities
  • Lenders and alternative financing companies
  • Franchise lawyers
  • Women’s Business Center and Small Business Development Center counselors
  • SCOREcounselors
  • Representatives of national and international franchise companies, including Hoodz, Money Mailer, Always Best Care, SpeedPro Imaging, Great Clips, Elements TM, Meineke/Maaco, and Red Wing Shoes
