Clifton resident Pat Riedinger won the annual Friends Choice Award for the Friends of the Burke Centre Library (FOBCL). The ceremony was conducted on October 12, 2011, during the Fairfax County Public Library Board of Trustees meeting.

Pat is a charter life member of the FOBCL, and has served as President of the group since its inception. She has actively lobbied against library budget cuts and has spoken publicly numerous times when asked to express support for the library. If any single person can be called the keystone of the strong and growing FOBCL, that person is Pat.

The award was presented by Susan C. Thorniley, Chair of the Board of Trustees. Present in the audience were FOBCL members Duwain Ketch, Joy Whittington, and Brian Engler. Linda Schlekau, Branch Manager of the Burke Centre Library, also attended.
