Burke Dance Company Named Grand National Champions

Buffa's Senior Dance Company captured first place awards in four categories.

The Senior Dance Company from was named Grand National Champions at the Contest of Champions Nationals last month.  Competing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, the team captured first place awards in the Lyrical, Modern, Jazz and Pom categories. 

The Grand National Champions award included a $3,000 prize and an invitation to perform in the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  

Emma Bradley, a junior at , was awarded first place for Senior Solo, and Emma Presing, an eighth grade student at Alexandria Country Day School, captured first place in the Junior Solo category.

The Senior Dance Company will be competing again at:

  • Dance Maker’s Inc. (DMI) in Tysons Corner, VA, March 23 - 25;
  • Showstoppers in Woodbridge, VA, May 18 - 20;
  • The Dance Awards in New York City, NY, July 4 - 11.

Buffa’s Senior Dance Company is coached by Melissa Hargett, Lindsay Snider, Laura Steen and Tom Alexander.
