The West Springfield Police Citizens’ Advisory Committee each year provides holiday meals at the station for officers who must be away from their families on Christmas Day. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has several collection locations throughout Burke and Springfield. You can donate new unwrapped toys through Dec. 22.

- VRE will be holding its annual Toys for Tots collection on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Leave an unwrapped, new toy on your seat when you detrain that morning, and conductors will collect them after the train reaches the storage yard. Conductors will also be accepting donation checks (payable to Toys for Tots) and gift cards.
