In addition to the peace that it provides provides, Kings Park Park’s trail is home to some rare species of plants. According to the park's plan, Trumpet Creeper Honeysuckle, rarely seen in Fairfax County, can be found on the trail, along with invasive non-native plant species, such as lavender and English Ivy.
Poison Ivy is common, and people taking advantage of the trail should be conscious of its’ presence.

A new state-of-the-art playground sits on once home to Royal Pool. When the pool was closed, the land was filled and a bright red, yellow, and blue playground was installed, complete with a rock wall, zip line, slides, and plenty of equipment on which to climb and play.
There are picnic tables adjacent to the playground and benches scattered throughout the park, most located in the shade.
Kings Park Park serves as a miniature oasis perfect for play, exercise, and thought. Though small, Kings Park Park combines many elements of large, expansive parks and compacts them to fill a niche within the Kings Park neighborhood.
