Lake Braddock Lacrosse Drops Season Opener to Robinson

Senior Mason Barry helped the Bruins prevent a shutout in 14-2 defeat.

An impenetrable defense led the Robinson Rams to a 14-2 victory Tuesday night in their season opener against the visiting Lake Braddock Bruins.

The Rams wasted no time and took a commanding lead in the first quarter, scoring six unanswered goals.

“We moved the ball around well on offense,” said Robinson Coach Matt Curran. “We took advantage of the opportunities that were given to us.”

The Rams would go on to take advantage of these opportunities eight more times before the clock ran out. Defense was also key, keeping the Bruins off the scoreboard until late in the fourth quarter.

“We played well defensively,” Curran said. “But we still need to focus on our transition game. We haven’t had much time outside to practice yet.”
