UPDATE: Lost Chihuahua Back Home
Thanks to Patch reader who notified her neighbor.
UPDATE: After some agonizing hours Sunday, a lost Chihuahua is back home, thanks to a neighbor who read about the lost dog on Burke Patch.
A neighbor recognized the dog in a photo posted Sunday on Patch. She contacted the dog owner's daughter, who was babysitting the dog, who called Chris and Katie Townsend. The Townsends found the dog running around by itself Sunday morning on Burke Centre Parkway.
"She called the house number that we left," Chris Townsend told Patch in an email, "and [the dog] immediately recognized the family when we got out of the car. It was quite the nice reunion."
----------
A couple found a Chihuahua mix running loose Sunday morning, at about 10:45 a.m., on Burke Centre Parkway and Coffer Woods Road.
The brown and white male dog has no ID, is wearing a blue collar and leash, and appears to be a Chihuahua mix.
The couple who found the dog, Chris and Katie Townsend, described the dog to Patch as "nervous and scared but friendly with other dogs."
If you lost your dog, please contact the Townsends at (703) 543-4917.
