With school canceled and government offices closed, Burke residents took to sledding while snow plows patrolled streets.

Snow covered much of Burke in snow Wednesday morning and eventually turned to rain in early afternoon, leaving slush and puddles of water in streets.
The weather didn't stop Burke residents from enjoyig the snow day off with schools and government offices closed. Kids sled and went tubing down hills near Burke Lake Road and in Burke Lake Park Wednesday afternoo as the wet precipitation continued to fall.
Snow plows drove through secondary streets and cleared parkng lots at schools like Lake Braddock Secondary School on Wednesday morning.
