Summer Reading Program Ends Saturday

Completed reading logs due today to receive a coupon book of free and discounted prizes.

Fairfax County Public Library's annual Summer Reading Program ends Saturday.

Youth Services Manager Melanie Parsons said it's the last day to visit one of the library's branches to obtain a prize.

Preschoolers through sixth graders were to read or listen to 15 books.

Students in grades 7 through 12 were to read eight books.

In addition to receiving a coupon book of discounted and free prizes, all kids who finish their books will be entered into a drawing for special prizes.

The Fairfax County Public Library Summer Reading Program encourages children and teens to read for pleasure during summer vacation. It is held in cooperation with the Fairfax County Public School system.
