VRE Santa Train Tickets Go on Sale Monday

Tickets for the annual event sell out fast.

Tickets for the highly-popular Virginia Railway Express Santa Train go on sale Monday at 9 a.m. online here.

This year's Santa Train is on Saturday, Dec. 8; trains will depart from the Manassas, Burke Centre, Woodbridge and Leeland Road stations.

More information, inlcuding train depature times, are available on the VRE website.

Each year the Virginia Railway Express allows children and their parents to ride the commuter train and meet Santa, Mrs. Claus and their helpers—who will all hand out candy canes, coloring books and VRE Operation Lifesaver rail safety information.

The Santa Train boarding stations are also drop off points for unwrapped gifts for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

VRE staff warn that tickets sell out fast online and in person. Last year VRE sold 7,500 Santa Train tickets.

Most trains have a limit of six tickets per purchase. Anyone who tries to make an online purchase for more than six tickets for a train with these limits will have their entire purchase refunded and their tickets re-sold, VRE officials said.

More information is available at VRE.org.

Do you know how much the tickets are? I can't find that information on their website.
