The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce will host the local business community for after-hours networking with candidates on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Springfield Golf & Country Club. This annual event is organized by the Chamber’s legislative committee.

House of Representatives - 8th District
Jim Moran - D, incumbent
Patrick Murray - R, challenger

House of Representatives - 11th District
Gerry Connolly - D, incumbent
Chris Perkins - R, challenger

In addition to open networking, each candidate will be given an opportunity to share their key issues and positions noteworthy of the business community’s attention. The format is not to debate, but to inform. Each candidate's core beliefs will make a difference in the future of the Greater Springfield area.

Virginia has a General Election every year on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Federal offices are elected in even-numbered years. The Chamber’s leadership urges you to go to the polls November 6, 2012. Voters will be voting for president and vice-president of the United States and for the offices of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
