Greenspring Residents Raise $292 Thousand for Staff Appreciation

Greenspring retirement community residents raised $292,000 for the 2011 Staff Appreciation Fund.

The Resident Life Committee organizes the annual campaign.  "This is our once-a-year opportunity to give a monetary gift showing our gratitude to these kind, hard working employees for the service they perform daily," they said.

Non-management, hourly employees received checks from the residents.  They include members of the security team, the grounds crew, the housekeeping staff, the transportation team, the culinary, banquet, and kitchen staff, the maintenance staff; and Renaissance Gardens employees at every level of care from the nurses to the dining service, maintenance, programming, housekeeping and laundry teams.

“It’s such a wonderful way for the employees to know they are appreciated and for the residents to show their gratitude for a job well done,” said Anita Garifo, Greenspring’s Community Resources Manager.

During the Dec. 13 check presentations, residents expressed their gratitude to staff for their dedicated service.
