Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce member Metro Run & Walk invites you to stop by their store on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 7:30 to 9 a.m. for early-bird networking and a presentation of proceeds from the third annual Springfield 15K/5K.

Held annually during Springfield Days weekend, the Springfield 15K/5K is a signature race event for southeastern Fairfax County.

On behalf of the Kingstowne Striders (the host club), the Springfield Days Festival and the Springfield 15K/5K race committee, Mark Russell, race director and owner of Metro Run & Walk thanks the race’s sponsors, volunteers and participants for making the 2012 event the best yet. There was a 25% growth in participants with 650 registered and a leap in sponsorships driving charitable proceeds to between $15 and $20,000 – double the 2011 levels.
