Dear Editor, Why is there an amendment to the Virginia Constitution on the November 6th ballot? It is to protect private property owned by Virginians from being seized by the government by imminent domain for anything other than public use. In Connecticut, the property of Susette Kelo was taken by imminent domain so that a private company could develop the property. This case went all the way to the US Supreme Court where the majority agreed that the government could take land from one private party for the use of another private party. 9 September 2012 Burke, Virginia I wish to report to residents of Burke, Virginia that I, Col. Silas Burke, had the opportunity to meet with a number of the residents of our humble village of Burke at the Burke Centre Festival. While the community has grown a bit since I last had the opportunity of visiting my home, there are a number of farms and homes of friends, such as the Coffers, that I still recognize. There are few things as valuable as early intervention for helping our youngest citizens become successful adults. The Fairfax–Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) has been dedicated since 1994 to providing early intervention services through the Infant and Toddler Connection (ITC). These services include speech therapy, learning and movement therapy and physical therapy. We have been honored to help so many children learn to speak first words and take first steps towards health development.
