 orage\, Alaska\, but his early years were spent in the Washington\, D.C.
  metro area. He has lived in Japan for four years where he was exposed t
 o Buddhism. He has served at the Fresno Betsuin as an associate member s
 ince April 2008.&nbsp\; Rev. Rye is a graduate of the Institute for Budd
 hist Studies (2004) and received his Kai Kyoshi (higher-level minister) 
 certification in April 2008.
