More About Harris Theatre at George Mason University
The 460 seat Harris Theatre is a modified proscenium thrust style theatre with an intimate feel.
It is located on the campus of George Mason University near the Center for the Arts, just northeast of Mason Pond Parking Deck,
The orchestra and balcony levels of Harris Theatre have separate entrances allowing the balcony to be closed when not required. There are 343 orchestra level seats
with additional space for 11 wheelchairs, and 117 balcony level seats. The balcony is accessible by staircase only.
The acoustical nature of the room lends itself well to both speaking events and music recitals. The venue has been used by various recording studios looking for a “live” sounding room for marching and concert band music. Additionally, the theatre is used regularly for both dance and theatrical productions.
For an hourly fee, the Sandy Creek and Mason Pond Visitor Parking Decks offer covered parking and a walkway to both the Concert Hall and Harris Theater.
Free parking is only available in Lot K (located directly across the pond from the Concert Hall).
