Burgos Getting Desperate
Today I was returning from Burke Lake and down the street from me a humongous white pick-up was parked. As we're a dead end, all the cars are known and this was unusual. A fellow was standing next to it and I recognized him as Burgos from the daily mailings we've been getting.
A while later he showed up at my door carrying a stack of yard signs and gave me the "I'm not really a Republican" patter, but I sent him packing. A while later I went out front to cut the grass and noticed one of his signs on my next door neighbor's lawn.
About dinner time my neighbor came to my door and asked if that sign on his lawn was mine. He thought maybe I had put it there while cutting the grass. I said no, and asked if he'd talked to Burgos earlier. He hadn't as he had been home alone and in the basement when the doorbell rang, which he hadn't answered because stairs take him a long time and we only ever get the occasional door-to-door guy wanting to trim trees.
So, since nobody answered Burgos stuck a sign on his lawn! While taking the dog for a walk I only saw one other Burgos sign much further down the street. Wonder if they weren't home either.
