Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue looking for donations

Dear Merchant,

On behalf of the members of the Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (BVFRD), I am soliciting donations of products or services to be given as door prizes at our banquet celebrating 66 years of service and honoring the volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel and career staff assigned to our station.  The banquet will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2014.

For sixty-six years, the volunteer staff of the Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, and the career staff of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue assigned to the Burke station, have gone to incredible lengths to provide for the safety and wellbeing of the Burke community and the citizens of Fairfax County.  Both provide unselfish service and both are trained to the same exacting standards.  Your generosity is requested for these brave men and women, who are also your neighbors, friends, and customers.

We hold this banquet to celebrate our anniversary and to acknowledge the important contributions and milestones these volunteers have provided to the community.

Please contact Keith O’Connor, Cathy Owens 703 268-3969, or Melanie Knoepfler-Powell 757 831-8909, if you wish to donate a door prize for this most worthy cause.  We will recognize your support of our members on a donor list at each table, as well as verbally acknowledging your generosity when the gift is awarded.

Thank you for your consideration.  We are proud to serve you, and the rest of our community, now and in the future.
