Not to Be Cruel, But Remember This?

What would you rather deal with?

Winter storm raises a question.
Winter storm raises a question.
Yes, this has been the Energizer Bunny of winters. It keeps going and going and ...

So, just a reminder: Summer ain't always what it's cracked up to be. At the risk of seeming cold-hearted, here's a story that ran in our region on July 7, 2012.

Tell us in comments: Would you rather deal with the summer heat and humidity or the winter cold and snow?

July 7, 2012 — Excessive heat and unhealthy air warnings are in effect for the Leesburg area for much of this weekend.

An excessive heat warning is in effect Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A Code Red air quality alert — indicating that air pollution concentrations have reached a level harmful to all populations — has also been issued for Saturday by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

The National Weather Service says temperatures will reach 105 on Saturday. The heat index will reach 110 on Saturday, the service said.

The warnings carry a high risk of heat exhaustion or other heat-related illness for those without air-conditioning or those spending time outdoors for an extended period of time.

Jesse Bishop (from facebook): I say I'll take the snow on work days but heat if it's a day off. My work doesn't mind me putting on more and more clothes but frowns upon me stripping down to nothing.

Amy Ellis (from facebook): I have always preferred heat & humidity to cold. I moved here from the Deep South & am miserable whenever the temperature is below 60 degrees.

I will take cold snow and clean crisp air over sweltering skanky humid air any day...
