If you've been patiently waiting for those bright yellow fireworks stands to open, you're in luck: at least two of the pop-up shops are now open for the season.
There are four fireworks location stands in the Burke-area: in the parking lot of the Giant on Burke Road near the Pet Nutrition Center, in the parking lot of the Burke Centre Shopping Center near Walmart and Shell gas station, the Giant on Burke Lake Road in the Kings Park Shopping Center, and in Burke Town Plaza off of Old Keene Mill Road.
The hours of operation for each stand could vary, but an employee at the Burke Road location said most are open between 10 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. daily.
For example, the Burke Road location is open daily from 9:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. On July 3, they're open from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4.
From July 5 through July 7, the stand will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, if they run out of fireworks by July 5th, the stand will close early.
Prices for fireworks range from $17.99 for a bargain bag to as much as $139.99 for a pyromaniac bag. From now until July 3, certain fireworks are also buy one, get one free.
The stands receive new stock every day, so if you don't see the fireworks you want the day you stop by, there's a good chance they'll have it the next day.
