First Snow of 2012

Slippery roadways, but little to no accumulation expected.

Periods of light to moderate snow will affect the Washington Metropolitan Area through the rush hour, according to the National Weather Service's 4:45 p.m. report.

Temperatures are expected to remain near or slightly above freezing, resulting in wet roadways.  Drivers should be careful of slippery conditions.

There may be small amounts of accumulation, especially on grassy services.
