Halloween Happenings for Kids of All Ages

Burke and Springfield Area Halloween Activities

Are you wondering how you can make your Halloween extra fun?  Patch has got you covered with a list of events happening in the Burke area on Monday, October 31st. 

Burke Community Church Harvest Festival

  • Where: 9900 Old Keene Mill Rd., Burke
  • When: Monday, October 31st from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Bring the kids and enjoy carnival games, crafts, prizes, and candy.  Inexpensive hotdog meals will also be available.  Each child will receive 15 free tickets for attending and 15 more tickets for every donated bag of candy.  Additional tickets will also be available for purchase.
  • Price: Admission is FREE 

Burke Nursery & Garden Centre Pumpkin Playground

  • Where: 9401 Burke Rd., Burke
  • When: Through Monday, October 31st from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Monday is your last chance to visit the 17th annual fall festival and pumpkin playground at Burke Nursery and Garden Centre.  Attractions include: pumpkin fort, pirate ship, slides, farm animals, rope swing, mechanical rides, and more.
  • Price: Weekday admission is $9 per person, which includes a small pumpkin and hayride.  Children under 2 are free. 

“Creepy Nights on Calamo”

  • Where: 7104 Calamo St., Springfield
  • When: Monday, October 31st from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
  • Why Go:  Visit this house in Springfield if you like your Halloween to be on the spooky side.  Treats will be given out at the door on Halloween night if you can make it through the “graveyard”. 
  • Price: The event is FREE, but the homeowners gratefully accept non-perishable food items to donate to ECHO.

Trick-R-Treating at Springfield Mall and Mall-O-Ween at Fair Oaks Mall

  • Where: 6500 Springfield Mall, Springfield; 11750 Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax
  • When: Monday, October 31st:  Springfield Mall from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.; Fair Oaks Mall from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Children are invited to wear their costumes and trick or treat from store to store.
  • Price: FREE

Trick-or-Treat at the City of Fairfax Police Department

  • Where: 3730 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax
  • When: Monday, October 31st from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Wear your costume to the City of Fairfax Police Department on Halloween night and receive a treat.
  • Price:  FREE
