Kings Park Library to Host Holiday Open House

The event, which will take place on Dec. 28 in Burke, will include face painting and more.

The holiday season isn't just all about gifts; it can also be about community.

To help celebrate the holidays, several Fairfax County Public Library branches have been hosting open houses throughout the month of December and inviting residents who are both familiar with and unfamiliar with the library to stop by.

Kings Park Library, located at 9000 Burke Lake Rd., will have an open house on Saturday, Dec. 28 from noon to 2 p.m.

Though the event is open to all ages, the open house is a great opportunity to keep the little ones active. A local artist will be on hand to help residents celebrate the holidays and the start of 2014 during the event.

Kings Park is the only Burke-area library hosting an open house. However, there will be one this weekend at the Martha Washington Library on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at 6614 Fort Hunt Rd., in Alexandria. Patrons will be able to make crafts, shop at a book sale and enjoy live music. The event is open to all ages.
