Powerball Winner: Millionaire Mystery in Fairfax County

Someone won big in Wednesday's drawing, but the prize hasn't been claimed.

Virginia Lottery officials are waiting on the owner of a $1 million Powerball lottery ticket to come forward. They know it was purchased at a Springfield 7-Eleven.

The winning numbers Wednesday were 3-7-9-26-54, with the Powerball number 19. The ticket purchased at the store at 6221 Rolling Road matched the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball. That makes the ticket worth $1 million.

In a little over a year, 11 Virginia tickets have won the $1 million prize, including Megan McCormick of Alexandria, who won last month on a ticket she bought in Arlington.

Whoever has this latest winning ticket has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize, according to a Virginia Lottery release. When the person is ready, he or she should contact the Virginia Lottery at 804-692-7777.
