Roof Repair Underway at Burke Centre Library

Construction is expected to last for several weeks.

Visitors to the Burke Centre Library may soon notice things will be a bit noisy around the library in the coming weeks. That's because the roof of the library is currently being replaced.

Work on the roof, which shows signs of storm damage, began last week. The library will remain open to the public during the construction, according to Mary Mulrenan, marketing director for the Fairfax County Public Library.

Patrons may still enter the library through the main entrance or use the drive-up window to collect their books. The book drop will also be available during construction.

Mulrenan did not give a definitive end date for the construction, but said construction would last for several weeks.

The library recently celebrated its fifth anniversary back in June. Burke Centre library opened in 2008.
