Delays, School Closures in Burke, Fairfax County
A list of what's open and closed in our area on Sunday.

All Fairfax County public schools will be closed on Monday, Dec. 9, according to the FCPS website.
All Fairfax County public schools will be closed on Monday, Dec. 9, according to the FCPS website.
Administrative offices will open at 12 p.m. The following activities in schools and on school grounds are canceled:
- extracurricular activities
- interscholastic contests
- team practices
- field trips
- middle school after-school programs
- professional learning and training courses
- all adult and community education classes
- recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS
- School Age Child Care (SACC) centers.

Burke and the Washington, DC area saw some snow on Sunday, and the winter weather is expected to continue through Monday morning.
Here's a look at some of the known closures in and around Burke for today and Monday.
Fairfax County Public Schools
All FCPS activities scheduled in or on school grounds were canceled Sunday after 12:30 p.m. including:
- extracurricular activities
- interscholastic contests
- team practices
- field trips
- professional learning and training courses
- all adult and community education classes
- recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS
All Fairfax County Public Libraries, including the Burke Centre Library, Pohick Regional Library and Kings Park Library, are closed Sunday due to inclement weather. Due dates will be adjusted accordingly.
