Summer Reading Program at Burke-Area Libraries Ends Friday

All kids who complete their reading by Friday, Aug. 31 are eligible to receive a coupon book full of free and discounted prizes.

The Fairfax County Summer Reading Program at libraries across the countywide, including Burke-area libraries, Burke Centre, Pohick Regional and Kings Park, will come to a close on Friday.

Elementary through high school kids in the Burke-area who have been participating in the program will have the opportunity to turn in proof of their completed reading and win a coupon book. The coupon book includes discounts and free prizes to local stores such as Cold Stone Creamery, AMF Bowling, Chick-fil-A and more.

The program began on June 18. Throughout the summer, kids were able to track their book reading using a free packet provided by library branches.

Students in each grade are required to read a specific number of books to claim their coupon book.
