National Symphony Orchestra - Marvin Hamlisch & Brian Stokes Mitchell

Hamlisch has won virtually every major music award that exists: 3 Oscars, 4 GRAMMYs, 4 Emmys, a Tony, and 3 Golden Globe awards.  He received the Pulitzer Prize for his groundbreaking show A Chorus Line. He has composed more than 40 motion picture scores including his Oscar-winning score and song for The Way We Were and his adaptation of Scott Joplin’s music for The Sting.

His Broadway career includes award-winning performances in Man of La Mancha, Kiss Me Kate, Ragtime, August Wilson’s King Hedley II, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jelly’s Last Jam, David Merrick’s“Oh, Kay! and Mail.
