Northern Virginia Players to Perform Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland, Jr.' in Burke

The troupe will perform a total of four shows at the Burke Community Church.

The Northern Virginia Players will present Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” for four shows starting next week.

The musical will follow Alice on her adventures through Wonderland with familiar characters such as the White Rabbit, the Caterpillar, the Tweedles and the Queen of Hearts. The shows will also feature updated dialogue and new arrangements of the popular Disney songs "I'm Late," "The Un-birthday Song" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da”.

Northern Virginia Players is an all-home school theatre troupe that features 69 actors ranging in age from 8 to 18.

The troupe will perform at 7:30 p.m. on May 17 and May 31 and at 1:30 p.m. on May 18 and June 1. All shows will be at the Burke Community Church, located at 9900 Old Keene Mill Rd.

Tickets are $10 each, and can be purchased online. All tickets are general admission.

According to a news release from the Players, the performances will be dedicated to Bobby Collar, an actor and friend of the troupe. Collar passed away on Feb. 14. The release states part of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Bobby Collar Memorial Fund.
