Braddock Nights Starts Tonight, Ossian Hall Series Returns Sunday June 5th

2011 Season of Braddock Nights begins this evening with concerts at Royal Lake and Lake Accotink Park.

On Friday June 3rd at 7:30 p.m. the 2011 Braddock Nights season will kick off with performances by Natty Beaux at Royal Lake and the Rustabouts at Lake Accotink Park.  On Sunday the annual concert series returns to Ossian Hall Park after a hiatus last year for park renovations. The United States Army Band popular music ensemble Downrange will open the season at Ossian Hall Park.  Through the end of August, every weekend will feature a similar line up with blues, pop, jazz and country music concerts playing at Lakes Royal and Accotink on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Ossian Hall Park will feature cultural heritage performances and a movie.

“These programs celebrate good entertainment, enrich our neighborhoods, and are fun for the whole family to participate in,” stated Braddock District Supervisor John C. Cook.

The concerts are free and open to the public.  Concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, food for the evening, and kids are welcome.

With the 17th Season beginning this June the concert series have survived and progressed through the years, even those with budget cuts, in large part due to the charitable giving of the local business community and reliable volunteer support.
