Paint a free soup bowl at a participating paint-your-own-pottery studio, now to Feb. 19 – and make an impact to fight local hunger!
The pottery studios are generously donating soup bowls to be used at Our Daily Bread’s 4th Annual Empty Bowls event taking place on Feb. 23 at the Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax City. Attendees at the Empty Bowls event select a unique soup bowl to take home – maybe yours! – as a symbollic reminder of those in our community whose bowls and pantries are empty... and that on this night, we all helped “fill empty bowls.” Then enjoy a simple symbolic meal of donated gourmet soup and bread.

It’s so much fun to get creative and paint with friends and family -- and even more fun when your time and talents are also helping support an important cause! Here’s how the "Paint a Soup Bowl" promotion works:
Visit one of these participating ceramic studios, purchase and paint an item for yourself... and then paint a free soup bowl that the store will donate to ODB’s Empty Bowls event:

- Paint Your Own Pottery – Fairfax City: Feb. 1 – Feb. 19.
- Paint Your Heart Out – Occoquan: Through Feb. 15.
- Color Me Mine – Fairfax Corner: Jan. 16 – Jan. 31.
Promotion details vary by store, so contact them for details. And if you’re coming with a troop or large group, please call in advance to let them know your plans.

We hope you’ll want to attend our Empty Bowls event for a heart-warming evening of fellowship and fun for an important cause... but even if you can’t: by donating your time and talent to paint a soup bowl, a part of you will be shared at the event to give help and hope to feed hungry neighbors in need!
