Photo Gallery: Springfield Mall Renovations

The Springfield Mall will be transformed into the Springfield Town Center with new stores and a movie theater. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2014.

Because we're all so anxious to see the finished product, the renovations at Springfield Mall seem to be lasting forever. Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay recently reassured us that the project is on scheduled for completion next year.

Since construction began, Patch readers have had plenty to say about the new Springfield Town Center — including comments on possible traffic, potential stores and restaurants.

Patch reader Carrie wants to see a hardware store and Kevin Dando would like the movie theater to be similar to the Alamo Drafthouse. Other readers have had some good suggestions on restaurants including Coastal Flatts and PF Changs.

Above are some more recent photos of the renovations at Springfield Mall which will soon be referred to as Springfield Town Center. As part of the transformation, construction workers are also working on the parking lots at the mall.
