Sheriff's Office, Target Partner for 'Safe Kids'

Free child safety seat inspections and child ID cards with fingerprints on July 21.

The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office will partner with to offer free child safety seat inspections and child ID cards with fingerprints on Saturday, July 21 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their vehicles, safety seats and children to the parking lot of the Target store at 10301 Guinea Road. Trained deputies will ensure that children fit securely in the safety seats and that the safety seats fit securely in the vehicle seat. 

At the child ID booth, the Sheriff's Office will provide parents with an ID card that includes a digital photo and a set of the child's fingerprints.  The fingerprints are taken using quick, clean inkless technology.

Scottos Rigatoni Grille of Centerville will provide free pizzas at the event. The rain date is July 28.

Those unable to attend the Target event, are welcome to visit a Sheriff's Safety Seat Saturday at the Fairfax County Public Safety Center on the last Saturday of every month; the third Saturday in November. Safety Seat Saturdays are held at the public parking garage, 10550 Page Avenue, Fairfax. Upcoming dates are July 28 and August 25.  Child ID events are scheduled throughout the year.
