Spring Flowers Bloom at Burke Nursery & Garden Centre

The local landscape and garden center is selling a variety of cool-season flowers such as pansies.

Wednesday marked the first day of Spring and spring usually means flowers will begin blooming soon.

Beatrice with Burke Nursery & Garden Centre on Burke Road said residents who are looking to brighten up their gardens and landscapes for spring should consider purchasing biennial pansies. Pansies are the perfect flower to handle the current, occasionally frosty weather until warmer spring weather arrives.

Other flowers that are ideal for gardens are geraniums, woodruff, and impatiens. If flowers aren't your thing, Beatrice suggested growing cool season vegetables such as cabbage, chard, brussels sprouts and spinach.

Burke Nursery will soon begin selling warmer spring-weather flowers and herbs in April.
