What Happened to Burke's BBQ World?
The longtime BBQ restaurant appears to have closed.
It looks like a longtime Burke business has left the community.
The signage for the BBQ World restaurant, located at 6050-H Burke Commons Rd., in the same shopping center as Walmart, has been removed, leading some residents to wonder if the restaurant closed. Some of the BBQ World's furniture also appears to have been removed.
The family-owned and operated restaurant opened in Burke in 1993 and celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year.
It is unclear whether the restaurant is closed temporarily or if they've relocated. Calls to the owner and the shopping center were not returned on Thursday. However, a Patch reader said that a sign in the window of the restaurant previously stated the restaurant was evicted for non-payment of rent.
