Chris Wade Holds Kickoff for Braddock District Supervisor Campaign

A crowd came out to the kickoff event at the Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station.

Over 140 people came out to support Chris Wade’s candidacy for Braddock District Supervisor on Thursday night atthe Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station

Supervisor Jeff McKay and Chairwoman Sharon Bulova of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors also came out to the event, where McKay announced his support for Wade in the upcoming election, where he is running for the Democratic nomination against . He highlighted Wade’s extensive background in business and involvement in the community.

In a written statement regarding his support for Wade, McKay said:“I’ve gotten to know Chris Well over the past several months and he’s clearly the candidate best positioned to retire incumbent John Cook. Braddock residents deserve a Supervisor who will work for their best interests, not for a narrow partisan agenda.”

Wade spoke following McKay's introduction.

“I cannot thank Jeff enough for his endorsement," Wade said. "It is truly an honor to have such a respected elected official recognize that I am the most electable Democrat and best person suited to represent Braddock on the Board of Supervisors.”

Wade explained why he believes he is the best candidate for the job.

“I understand how to achieve efficiencies," Wade said. " I also recognize that we need to continue to invest in the future growth of our community. We need to continue to invest in education and public safety, which maintain the quality of life here. We must also look to work with the business community to help revitalize parts of the county and to attract new industries. I have created jobs in Fairfax County and understand the need to invest in future growth."

He was joined on stage with his wife Stacy and their three young children.

“She’s a rock, and I wouldn’t be standing here in front of you all today without her,” Wade said.
