Mutts Matter Rescue Introduces: Elmer

MMR is a local 501(c)(3) non profit, all volunteer organization.

Hello! My name is Elmer. I'm a hound mix, and Mutts Matter thinks I might have some Rhodesian Ridgeback in me, too. I'm almost two- years-old, about 40 pounds, and I'm a sweet boy who still has some puppy energy in me.

I love to run and play fetch, and when I run and chase the ball, I spring in the air like a deer. I'm good with other dogs and would love to find a home with a pup brother or sister. I'm potty-trained, crate-trained, and already know the sit command.

I was rescued because I was a victim of the Alabama tornado. I lost my home and my family.  Thankfully, Mutts Matter took me in, and I have a second chance at a great life. I need a family who will make me feel secure and can show me some leadership because I haven't had much stability in my life lately.

I tend to be a little protective of my toys, but I'm learning the drop command, and I'm anxious to learn more. I’m very food motivated and smart, and with some consistency and a family who will spend a little time working with me to learn new things, I will be the best dog ever... You'll see if you give me a chance.

Mutts Matter thinks I would do great in a home with another dog and a fenced yard where we can run and play together, but mostly I'm looking for a family who will love me, and I will love them back wholeheartedly.

By adopting me you are giving me a great home, and helping to save the life of another dog in need of rescue. Oh yeah… Roll Tide!
