Mutts Matter Rescue Introduces: Jacob

A local non-profit gives mutts a second chance.

Hello. My name is Jacob, but everyone calls me Jake. I'm a very sweet, two-year-old pug mix, and weigh about 20 pounds. Mutts Matter thinks I may be mixed with a Boston Terrier, so I'm larger than your average Pug. It's hard to tell from my photos, but my snout is not as compressed as a purebred Pug, and I have longer legs too.

I'm the complete package pup for you... I'm potty-trained, walk well on a leash, and I stay home during the day when my foster mom goes to work -- and do a great job on my own. I love to go on car rides, play with my toys, or snuggle up next to you on the couch. I'm very smart too, and already know how to sit, stay, and I will come when you call me.

My foster mom calls me Mr. Social because I love everyone I meet, and when I go to the dog park, I make it a point to visit with all my canine pals - small or large - to see if they’ll play with me.

I am an energetic pup and stronger than most Pugs, so you need to keep me busy and active with runs in a yard, long walks, or playing with toys or other dogs. Sometimes I get excited when I meet new people and want to jump up to greet them. My new owner will need to be my pack leader and offer firm corrections, and I will respect you and listen. My foster mom has been working with me on this and says I'm already getting better.

Since I’m too cute for words, I’m going to get adopted quickly, so apply for me soon!! I would be great in a home with kids or other dogs.

To learn more about me, go to Mutts Matter and fill out an application, or you can contact my friend Suzanne with questions at (703) 468-8922 or suzanne@muttsmatterrescue.com.

My adoption fee includes all my routine vetting, my microchip, and my neuter. By adopting me you are giving me a great home, and helping to save the life of another dog in need of rescue.

Thank you for choosing to rescue!
