Santa Visits Burke on a Fire Truck

Santa will be visiting several neighborhoods across Burke beginning Monday.

Santa will visit Burke neighborhoods throughout December atop Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Engine 414B. The 2012 Santa Runs begins Monday, Dec. 3. 

The following list of neighborhoods and subdivisions includes street directions to help describe where and when Santa will visit. The box numbers refer to the map used by Station 14 (attached as a pdf).

If any of these times and dates below change, Burke Volunteer Fire Department will be posting updates via their website, www.bvfrd.org and their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/BVFRD).

Monday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m. (Box 1403) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Edge Water and Spring LakeFarms. Neighborhoods and streets off of Lake Meadow. Also neighborhoods and streets off of Spring Lake Drive and Fallingbrook Drive between Burke Lake Road and Westwood Manor Court, Summerday Drive, Wilmington Drive south of Burke Lake Road and Walthorne Court.

Tuesday, Dec. 4, 6 p.m. (Box 1401) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Lake Braddock and Greenfield Farm. Neighborhoods and streets on/off of Winbourne Road, Wallingford Drive, Ashburn Drive and Lake Braddock to the west of Olley Lane. 

Wednesday, Dec. 5, 6 p.m. (Box 1402 North) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods and streets off/near Wards Grove Road and/or Coffer Woods Road from Burke Lake Road through Canvasback Road and also those streets off of School House Woods Court.

Thursday, Dec. 6, 6 p.m. (Box 1402 South) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods and streets surrounded by Burke Centre Parkway to the east, Burke Lake Road to the south, Belleair Road to the west and Winnepeg Drive to the north. Also those home and streets on/connected to Wheaton Dr.

Friday, Dec. 7, 6:30 p.m. (Box 1400) - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Burke HillBurke Village, and Cardinal Glen. Streets immediately off Burke Lake Rd. between the Burke Centre Pkwy and Burke Rd., including Harvester Ct. and the streets off Shiplett between Burning Branch and Burke Lake Rd. 

Saturday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m. - Orange Hunt Subdivision

Saturday, Dec. 8, 5 p.m. (Box 1406) - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Surrey SquareMaywood Terrace, Briarwood, Vertain Park, and Twinbrook.  Also Braddock Green Ct., the neighborhoods and streets on/off ofTwinbrook Rd. north of Braddock Dr. and on/off Pickett Rd. south of Old Forge Park.

Monday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m. (Box 1407 North) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Bradfield, Red Fox Forestand Stone Haven. Neighborhoods north of Braddock Rd. but south of Long Branch Stream Valley Park, east of Wakefield Chapel Rd. and west of Red Fox Dr.  Also homes on Bradfield Dr. and King David Blvd (north of Braddock but south of Colt La) and streets directly connected to the two.

Tuesday, Dec. 11, 6 p.m. (Box 1407 South) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Dunleigh and Signal Hill.  Plus those neighborhoods and streets on/off of Dunleigh Dr. and Dunleigh Ct., neighborhoods and streets south of Braddock Rd. but north of Parliament Dr. and east of the beginning of Thames St.

Wednesday, Dec. 12, 6 p.m. (Box 1404) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Cardinal Estates andHeritage Sq. Streets and neighborhoods directly off Burke Rd. or near Burke Rd. between Burke Lake Rd. and the Rolling Rd. VRE, as well as Packard Way and Burke Manor.

Thursday, Dec. 13, 6 p.m. (Box 1405) – Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Meadowbrook and Fox Lair. Neighborhoods that are directly west and northwest of Lake Braddock High School off the section of LakeBraddock Rd. north of Burke Lake Rd. up through Olley La.  Also those neighborhoods north of the VRE tracks but south of the section of Lake Braddock Rd south of Burke Lake Rd., including Renior Port, Queen Victoria Ct. and Bald Hill Pl.

Friday, Dec. 14 6 p.m. (Box 1408) - Santa will visit the neighborhood of Kings Park West. Neighborhoods south/southeast and directly east of Laurel Ridge Elementary School off, or near to, Gainesborough Dr. up to Wyncliff La.

Saturday, Dec. 15, 5 p.m. (Box 1410) - Santa will visit the neighborhood of Glen Cove the Village Park. Neighborhoods and streets north of Guinea Road off/near Zion Drive and Falmead Road but south of the sharp turn at the top of the hill on Zion Road.

Sunday, Dec. 16, 3 p.m. - Middleridge Subdivision

Monday, Dec. 17, 6 p.m. (Box 1411) – Santa will visit the neighborhood of Lakepointe.  Neighborhoods and streets between Pommeroy Dr, Commonwealth Boulevard and Guinea Road including Chatsworth Court and Lakepoint Drive and neighborhoods and streets South of Guinea Road off of Pierrpont Drive and Lakepointe Drive.

Tuesday, Dec. 18, 6 p.m. (Box 1412) - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Queens Gate and Kings Grove. Areas south of Braddock Road, North of Guinea and East of Twinbrook. Also neighborhoods and streets immediately off Olley Rd. through but not including Briar Patch.

Wednesday, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. (Box 1414) - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Edge WaterAvon Forestand Kilarney. Neighborhoods directly north and south of Burke Lake Rd. between Fairfax Co. Parkway and Kilkenny Lane, including Thode Lane and Deckhand Drive.

Thursday, Dec. 20, 6 p.m. (Box 1409) - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Blue Ridge ClusterOld Mill Community, Bent TreeBurke HeightsRolling Valley West and Keene Mill Woods. Neighborhoods and streets east and west of Shiplett (excluding homes off Burning Branch, Candleberry, and Ashbridge.) and those north and south of Torrence St. (north of Old Keene Mill Road), and the neighborhoods and streets off of Covered Bridge.

Friday, Dec. 21, 6 p.m. (Box 1434 South) Part 1 of 2 - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Pepper Tree, Orange Hill West, Cherry Run and Burke Lake Meadow. Neighborhoods just south of Iron Master Dr. to Lee Chapel Road and neighborhoods just east of Lee Chapel Road through Mainsail Drive.

Saturday, Dec. 22, 5 p.m. (Box 1434 North) Part 2 of 2 - Santa will visit the neighborhoods of Pepper Tree, Orange Hill West, Cherry Run and Burke Lake Meadow. Neighborhoods just north and south of Old Keene Mill Road, neighborhoods just north of Iron Master Drive to Lee Chapel Road.  Also neighborhoods just east of Lee Chapel Road through Onion Patch Drive.
