Thunderstorm Watch and Heat Advisories in Fairfax County
A severe thunderstorm watch and heat advisory have been issued for Fairfax County
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Fairfax County until 10 p.m. Scattered thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon and early evening, according to the NWS forecast.
In addition, the NWS has issued a heat advisory until Wednesday at 8 p.m. Temperatures are expected to hover in the mid 90s with a heat index in the triple digits.
Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and avoid strenuous outdoor activity. In a heat advisory, children, the elderly, and pets are most at risk.
