Northern Virginia Voter Registration Day is Tuesday
The general election is Nov. 5, and voters must be registered by Oct. 15. See who's on the ballot for Vienna voters.

If you have moved, changed your name or need to check the status of your voter registration, this Tuesday is your chance.
Northern Virginia Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, Oct. 1 and several jurisdictions are hosting coordinated voter registration events.

The are two events in Burke:
- Pohick Regional Library – 6450 Sydenstricker Road, Burke (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Walmart – 6000 Burke Commons Road, Burke (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
The third closest option to Burke is the Richard Byrd Library – 7250 Commerce Street, Springfield (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.)

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 5 Virginia General Election is Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Here are additional events in Fairfax County:- Herndon Fortnightly Library – 768 Center Street, Herndon (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
- Reston Regional Library – 11925 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
- Martha Washington Library – 6614 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
- Chantilly Regional Library – 4000 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
- Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus – CF Building (food service building) (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Who's Running?
Three people are running for governor in Virginia—Terry McAuliffe(D), Ken Cuccinelli (R) and Robert Sarvis (L). McAuliffe and Cuccinelli and McAuliffe debated last week in McLean.
Ralph S. Northam (D) and E.W. Jackson (R) are in a contest for Leiutenant Governor.
Mark Herring (D) and Mark Obenshain (R) are running for Attorney General.
There are four people running for sheriff in Fairfax, as well—Stacey Ann Kincaid (D), Bryan A. "B.A." Wolfe (R), and independents Christopher DeCarlo and
Robert A. Rivera.
House of Delegates
In the 38th District, the race is between incumbent Kaye Kory (D) and independent challenger James L. "Jim" Leslie. Del. Vivian Watts (D-39th) is currently unopposed.
In the 41st District, the race is between incumbent Eileen Filler-Corn and challengers Fredy Burgos (R) and Christopher F. DeCarlo (I).
On the ballot for the 42nd District are incumbent Dave Albo (R) and challenger Ed R. Deitsch (D).
