Lift Up a Child's Life. Lean more about CASA Volunteering.
A new case of child abuse or neglect enters the Fairfax County Domestic & Juvenile Relations Court once every 38 hours. These children need dedicated, caring advocates to help ensure that their best interests are represented in court.
That's where Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA volunteers, enter the picture. CASA volunteers investigate a child's situation and speak for the best interests of the child. Volunteers visit the children on their cases twice a month and interview social workers, therapists, teachers and other professionals, all the while gathering information to report to court. Volunteers receive extensive training and are supervised by a professional staff.
If you seek a volunteer role with real purpose that can create real change, please attend Fairfax CASA's upcoming information session on Saturday, September 21, 11:00 am -- 12:00 pm, at the Kings Park Library in Burke.
