Live Jazz at Virginia Music Adventures Gala

Chuck Mangione Soloist to Perform

Join Fairfax County youth jazz musicians and legendary Chuck Mangione Band woodwind soloist and recording artist Chris Vadala as they perform a tribute to the music of Chuck Mangione and showcase other American jazz from the swing era to contemporary compositions.

This annual fundraiser for Virginia Music Adventures, Inc., a non-profit organization that promotes music education and the global preservation of American jazz through performances by young musicians, features silent and live auction items, raffle prizes, an open wine and beer bar, and gourmet hors d’oeurves.

Tickets are $75.00 and can be purchased in advance at www.vamusicadventures.org. All proceeds support VMA’s travel and scholarship programs, and the group’s mission to provide music instruction, performance and travel opportunities to school-aged musicians ages 12-18.

VMA bands conduct global good-will missions and raise awareness of American jazz with musical tours coordinated through the U.S. State Department. In recent years VMA’s ensembles have thrilled audiences in Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Cape Town, Soweto and Johannesburg. The bands have also performed in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Tokyo, Nagano, Istanbul, Ankara, Paris, Amsterdam, the Hague, Lima, Cuzco, Quito, Sydney and Melbourne.
