Mardi Gras Concert & More

Celebrate an early spring and Mardi Gras with a full evening of fun -- New Orleans style — jambalaya, jazz, jpegs and King Cake.

Eight of the top professional jazz musicians on the East Coast will perform a free Mardi Gras concert to benefit 25:40, a local non-profit whose mission is to save orphans in rural South Africa from the devastating impacts of poverty, disease and violence.

The list of jazz musicians performing at the concert reads like a Who’s Who in Jazz, ranging from members of Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks to the Dukes of Dixieland to those who have performed with Dave Liebman, Ramsey Lewis, Swamp Romp and many many more.

Doors to the concert open at 6:30 p.m. so you can stroll through a stunning photo exhibit featuring moving photos from South African photographer Pippa Hetherington. You will have a chance to purchase prints. All proceeds benefit 25:40.

King Cake and other refreshments will be served after the concert.
