Congratulations to Our New Class of Volunteers!

Seventeen newly trained CASA volunteers stand ready to serve abused and neglected children.

We are excited to announce that 19 outstanding volunteers successfully completed pre-service training in June and were sworn in as Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates. The Honorable Kimberly J. Daniel presided over the evening ceremony, administering the CASA Oath to 17 of the new volunteers. Two additional volunteers will be sworn in when they return from vacation in early July.

Prior to administering the oath, Judge Daniel thanked the volunteers for their commitment to the county’s at-risk children. She relayed how important a CASA volunteer’s objective information is to the court, and urged the volunteers to remain steadfast in their commitment to the abused and neglected children on their cases.

The training of 19 new CASA volunteers comes at a critical time, as there are 64 children waiting for an advocate who will identify their needs, stand beside them, and fight for their safety. View photos of the ceremony here.

Congratulations and thank you to the new volunteers:
