Save the Date- Run for the Children

It’s not too early to mark your calendars for Fairfax CASA’s next Run for the Children 8K Race & 3K Run/Walk.  The 2014 race will take place on Saturday, May 3, at 8:00 am.

Whether you love to run, or love to give back to the community, this is a must run event for your family, children, friends and co-workers! 

“I run because each child deserves a change to grow up feeling safe and supported in a family they can call their own,” says Melissa, a CASA supporter and fan of the Run.  Over the last three years, the race has attracted nearly 2,500 runners and walkers, 600 volunteers, and raised more than $250,000 to support Fairfax CASA’s advocacy work with abused and neglected children in the community.

This community tradition will take place in historic Fairfax City, starting and ending at the Fairfax Courthouse complex on Chain Bridge Road.  Participants have the option to race in an 8K course or walk/run in a 3K course.  Groups and individuals have the opportunity to build team spirit by running together and/or setting a goal to raise additional money for the children we serve.  The event will follow with prizes, food, a raffle and entertainment.
