Bake Sale Fundraising Animal Rescue

There is a bake sale in front of the Burke Centre Giant  from 9:00 AM till 1:00 PM on April 23 rd to benefit Pets Ltd., a non-profit animal welfare organization.

Who are we?

PETS Ltd. is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization. PETS Ltd. was established in June 2004 for the purpose of spaying and neutering companion animals in an effort to reduce pet overpopulation.  
 
PETS Ltd. provides low-cost (and in hardship cases free) spay/neuter surgeries for qualified rescue groups and individuals they sponsor. We deal primarily with cats as our facility is small and there are far more stray cats and feral cats than dogs, although small dogs from shelters and rescues can be accommodated.
Since its beginning, PETS Ltd. has performed more than 6,000 surgeries, preventing the birth of perhaps 20,000 unwanted animals.
Why do we do this?

The leading cause of death for cats and dogs is pet overpopulation. There are not enough homes available for the many companion animals taken to the shelters daily. Sometimes these animals are humanely euthanized, and sometimes not, depending on the animal shelter. It is irresponsible to let a pet breed when there are no homes for the offspring. It is unfair to these pets, unfair to the shelter workers who must say "Be a good boy and give me your paw as I must kill you" and to the animal rescue groups who are on constant overload trying to find as many good homes as they can, and who must constantly raise funds for veterinary care and maintenance of these animals.
