More than two hundred residents and special guests attended the 12th annual "Best of Vegas!" Benevolent Care Fund Gala at Greenspring retirement community on Friday, September 30.

More than two hundred residents and special guests attended the 12th annual “Best of Vegas!” Benevolent Care Fund Gala at Greenspring retirement community in Springfield on September 30.

“The Gala is the biggest charity event each year at Greenspring,” said Greenspring’s Director of Philanthropy, Kimberly Nelson.  “It’s always a wonderful night full of entertainment, food, and friends.”

The gala is part of a series of year-long charity events arranged to raise money for the community’s Benevolent Care Fund.  This year, a total of $330,000 has been raised for the fund, which provides support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources.  The money raised for the fund allows residents to continue living at Greenspring, as well as receive the care that they need.

“This annual event celebrates the generosity of our residents and their families, staff, community friends, and our Board of Directors,” said Robin Gliboff, Greenspring’s Executive Director.  “In so many ways, the Benevolent Care Fund epitomizes the word ‘community’ at Greenspring.  We are a community that has committed to support our neighbors at the most difficult time of their lives.”

Special thanks to the dozens of sponsors of this years’ Gala including Greenspring Treasure Chest, Greenspring Village Church, Cypress Contracting, LLC, Sue Mathis, PNC Bank, Paulette M. Damm, Victor N. Coleman, Columbia at Greenspring, Contemporary Electrical Services, Inc., NOVAGold, LLC, Positive Contractors, Inc., Arris a Design Studio, Inc., Business Flooring, Inc., Greenspring Computer Club, Nora Yen Leng, Walter and Stephen Smiley, and many more.
