On Tuesday, October 4, the resident Democratic and Republican Clubs of Greenspring hosted a candidate forum with state senate candidates for Virginia's 39th district.  The forum included incumbent Senator George Barker and his challenger Miller Baker, and was moderated by veteran journalist, Bruce DePuyt, producer and host of “NewsTalk” on NewsChannel 8.

Almost 200 Greenspring residents attended the hour-long forum and had the opportunity to write down questions for use by the moderator, as well as meet the candidates after the conclusion of the forum.

Greenspring has been its own voting precinct since 2003 and traditionally produces the highest voter turnout of any precinct in Virginia.
