Senate Candidate George Allen Visits Greenspring

Nearly 150 residents turned out to listen to former Senator George Allen speak at an event hosted by the Greenspring Republican Club.

On Tuesday, September 4, the Greenspring Republican Club hosted George Allen, former Virginia Senator and former Virginia Governor.  Allen is a current candidate for U.S. Senate, hoping to replace the retiring Senator Jim Webb.

Nearly 150 residents packed Greenspring’s Hunters Crossing Conference Center to listen to Allen, as well as to ask their most pressing questions ranging in topic from climate change to healthcare to transportation.  While at Greenspring, Allen stated, “I want to be the deciding vote to repeal this healthcare tax law."

Greenspring has been its own voting precinct since 2003 and has historically produced the highest voter turnout across Virginia.  In the 2008 presidential election, nearly 90 percent of registered voters at Greenspring turned out to vote.
